Venice Beach is a great spot to visit to try some interesting and tasty brews. Abbott Kinney Blvd. and Main St. have emerged as a not-so-off-the-beaten-path destination for neighborhood locals.

It was a moderately sunny 70 degrees at the Santa Monica Pier on Friday, May 15th. That didn’t stop Coors Light in bringing snow to the small Southern California amusement park. The popular location for anglers was suddenly swarming with Coors Light girls dressed in boots, beanies and winter white vest parkas.

Estrella Damm announced the launch of Estrella Damm INEDIT on May 14, 2009, a beer specifically created to accompany food.

We arrived at the First Annual Craft Beer festival in Echo Park, Los Angeles an hour late on May 9th, and the line was down the block – and not moving. The doorman with the big, red goatee pulled us aside after hearing us inquire about the line. We asked if there was a cool local brew pub in the area, where we could possibly wait out the line. Feeling as if he didn’t want a lot of tourists or visitors bombarding his ‘joint’, he quickly looked us up and down before divulging the location. Apparently, we passed the cool factor test and he could tell we were far from tourists. He whispered that El Prado had some great craft beers.

As told on the movie’s website, Beer Wars begins as the corporate behemoths are being challenged by small, independent brewers who are shunning the status quo and creating innovative new beers.
