Des Geants Saison Voisin
Referring to a former saison beer from neighboring Flobecq, it has some farmyard and iron touches. - The Beer Book
According to the website: This beer which was brewed according to the original 1884 recipe and under the guidance of retired brewer Mr Léon Voisin, brasseur retraité, is amber coloured and has a strength of 5% abv.
Refreshing, with a light touch of bitternes and fruitiness, Saison Voisin is produced by top fermentation. It is unfiltered and is refermented in bottle.
Decent Spring-Summer Beer
Slightly hazy, chestnut-orange color with some suspended yeast. Smell is mostly malt with earthy old wood, slight ginger and wet grass.
Taste has an unexpected toasty malt character, leading up to tropical fruits sweetness. Some orange peel taste comes out after it warms a bit. Soft on the palate w/ good carbonation, a somewhat dry finish. A respectable, albeit atypical saison, worth trying once.
